I think we have finally reached real spring, after a few false springs and A LOT of rain, I am optimistic that the time has finally come. We've finally unwrapped our Lavender Field and are in the process of seeing how all our little (not so little anymore) plants have done. Unfortunately some have a little wind burn but they are coming back. And every few days I keep seeing more and more plants slowing waking up and turning green. Many of our plants are greening up from the bottom so they may look dead but they aren't. Its fun to start working on cleaning up the field, trimming and getting the lavender ready to show off this summer.

Our little 4" plugs have made it to full blown plants! The plant to the left already has the start of flowers! Dad and I have been busy creating some new products over the winter, Himalayan Pink Salt Bath bombs, Lavender bath tea, a few cold process soaps, and of course our room sprays and essential oil. Last year we had the opportunity to test these processes but this year we are ready for a full harvest and if everything goes right a full product line!
Of course we'll still offer fresh and dried lavender. My personal favorite is the lavender fire starter bundles, made from the byproduct of our steam distillation we didn't want to waste anything so we dry it in the sun on a tarp until its totally dry, tie it up with jute string and use it as a great (and nice smelling) fire starter. Since there's no chemicals other than the natural plants it makes for a great option both inside the fire place or outside in the fire pit!
Oh and we're also adding more plants this year so as soon as it dries out a little we will have 50 more plants added to our field!
Happy Spring Everyone!
