If you've ever grown your own lavender in a pot or in the garden you know it truly is a beautiful plant. We've been committed, since the day we decided to test out our lavender farming skills, to treat our plants as naturally as possible. This means, when necessary we treat our fields with organic treatments. Why? Our lavender field sits next to our pond, our neighbors keep bees and we love those pollinators, we want to be confident that our lavender is safe for skin, or even consumption in teas or infusions & being a good steward of our plants and our land is important.
Each of the 6 varieties we currently grow are beautiful in their own ways. Last week we harvested our early blooming plants Munstead, Maillette and Riverina Thomas. This harvest each unique variety was used to distill for oil which we will use in our Body Butter, Soap, Bath Bombs and of course we will bottle and sell the Hydrosol as well.
